Leon, I appreciate your heart. So many horrible things have been done in the name of Christ. But we all know of people that have misrepresented someone else because that person was also misinformed. The Jesus of the Bible isn’t the same as those who have butchered and mamed in his name. Jesus said to love your enemies and do good to those who persecute you. He said to forgive as you want to be forgiven. He said to put others before yourself. If men misrepresent him he said one day they world be dealt with as he won’t allow evil forever. Men can be evil for there own gain. Jesus gave his life to remedy the effects of our desire to go out own way (butchering and maming over love) but men must choose his way over their own. Anyone can misrepresent someone. Look at those who truly follow Jesus. Not those who just say they do. You will know the difference by the lives they lead. Jesus said men will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.
I have a theory about humanity and its need to subordinate large groups of people. A drive for primal hierarchy, all about obedience in the guise of morality.

That was a powerful poem. It hit me really hard especially after reading one of King Leopold’s letters on his plan to convert the Congolese. He said that they already had a spirituality and knew commandments that were Biblically sound, but his people subjugated them. https://www.africanglobe.net/africa/letter-king-leopold-ii-colonial-missionaries-heading-africa-1883/
Thank you for the link and the compliment on my poem. I read the book “King Leopold’s Ghost”, he was one of the many “Hitlers” in Africa, actually killed a lot more Congolese than Hitler killed Jews.
You’re welcome. I was just proving your point even more. I feel bad for not knowing who Leopold was until only a few years ago. With all the schooling I’ve done, no one EVER told me about that genocidal maniac. That is true about Leopold. It’s just that it’s kept under the rug and he got away with his atrocities. I actually mentioned the Congolese Genocide yesterday as part of a post I did which talked about racist implications involving a very certain movie. It’s a shame that the Congolese let alone the other African groups got subjugated. Shoot, Leopold’s statue is STILL up in Belgium right now!
That is sad and kind of sick that his statue is still up, it pretty much tells you what White people think about us globally, which is why we can’t allow ourselves to be shamed into being silent. I don’t think any Jewish person would be happy about a Hitler statue anywhere in the World.
Of course. He shouldn’t get a free pass in Belgium just because of his architecture projects or because he was a king. It’s sick how the legacy of the Congolese Genocide still permeates there whether it’s the statue or those chocolate hands sold in Belgium. There’s a reason why the Congolese changed the name of Leopoldville into Kinshasa (the capital and largest city).
Exactly! Everyone would riot if there was a Hitler statue up anywhere.
