The Family and lawyers of Roxsana Hernandez Rodriguez, are looking for answers in how she died.
According to her family and their representatives, Rodriguez, was an HIV positive transgender woman from Honduras, who was seeking Asylum in the United States.
On May 13, she was taken into ICE custody, at the Ysidro Port of entry near the border of San Diego, California. On May 16, She would be transferred to a for-profit ICE detention center, the Cibola County Correctional Center in New Mexico, and placed in a unit for transgender detainees.
Nine days later, she would die at the Lovelace medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was originally determined that she died of cardiac arrest. Later, a private autopsy, which was paid for by the Transgender Law Center, which is presenting Rodriguez’s family, later revealed that they believed she died of dehydration, in combination with her HIV infection, the autopsy, would also show signs of possible abuse, she reportedly had shackle marks on her wrist and bruising on her stomach and back, which could suggest that she was beaten.
According to CNN, “TLC sent a written notice of a personal injury and wrongful death claim to the state of New Mexico on November 19, the first step in filing a lawsuit.”

Amber Guyger, the white woman Dallas, police officer who shot and killed 26-year Botham Jean, a seemingly law abiding citizen in his own apartment was officially fired by former police department.
After the shooting, Guyger, originally claimed that she some how confused, Mr.Jean’s apartment for her own, and claimed she shot him when he didn’t respond to her verbal commands.
According to some news outlets, some neighbors gave conflicting accounts to what they heard.
Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall, reportedly fired Amber Guyger after an internal investigation was concluded and determined the former Dallas police officer “engaged in adverse conduct’.
She has reportedly been charged with manslaughter in the death of, Jean.

Steven Alembik, a GOP campaign donor and activist, who donated over $20,000 to Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron Desantis’ campaign, recently caused some controversy when he went on a racist Twitter rant and called former president Barack Obama a “f#cking Muslim n#igger”.
This is not the Florida candidate’s first experience with racism.
According to politico, this is Desantis’ fifth racism related issue, who the day after winning the Republican nomination in the August 28 primary, warned voters ” not to monkey this up, by electing black Democratic Andrew Gillum.
Those remarks received some backlash as some believed them to be racist dog whistles to his white conservative based.
