NEW NORTH CAROLINA LAW PREVENTS PUBLIC FROM SEEING POLICE CAM FOOTAGE

In a new strategy to prevent the possible crimes of police officers from being seen by the public and creating backlash against police brutality and racism, that can be used as motivation by grassroots activists like members of the Black Lives Matter movement, who have been protesting the recent killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota . Pat McCrory the governor of North Carolina signed a new bill limiting who can see the footage from police cams.
Whereas, in the past video footage from police cams would of been considered public information, this new North Carolina Law limits who can see the video to the people who are in the video, and even that request by a person in the video can still be denied and would have to be taken to superior court. This law without a doubt, will hurt the people most affected by police violence and that’s poor people of color, who will find it more difficult to hire a good lawyer to fight for their right to see the video, assuming they are not slained like Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

The voice we the American people is being silenced before we even hand in our voting ballot, so make sure you check you voter status and make sure you are registered to vote and if not please register before the May 23 deadline to be eligible to vote in the
June 7th California Democratic Primary.
I recently found out I was the victim of voter suppression, when on the advice of one of my friends I checked my voter status and to my suprise , I realized after 13 years of being a registered voter I was purged from the voting rolls in California, with no explanation , like the over 126,000 registered voters purged from the voting rolls in New York .

ANTI-ISLAM RALLY BECOMES VIOLENT IN GERMANY! (ARTICLE)

On Saturday riot police were called in when approximately 1,300 far-right protesters, (who were protesting against muslim asylum seekers and the New Years Eve attacks on women ) became violent.
The recent German anger stems from the German government deciding to open its doors to 1.1 million asylum seekers, who are mainly from the muslim world and the recent New Years Eve attack on several German women, where several women were allegedly robbed and molested by men mainly from the muslim world.
The protest was organized by the far-right Anti-Islam P.E.G.I.D.A ( Patriotic Europeans against Islamization of the West) movement.
Allegedly some protesters bore tattoos of Germany nationalistic symbols.
According to Al Jezeera :
“Earlier in the week, German federal police said they had identified 32 people who were suspected of playing a role in the attacks on women on Cologne, 22 of whom were in the process of seeking asylum in Germany.
They documented 76 criminal acts, most of them involving some form of theft, and seven linked to sexual molestation.
Of the suspects, nine were Algerian, eight Moroccan, five Iranian and four Syrian. Three German citizens, an Iraqi, a Serb and a U.S. citizen were also identified.”

Chicago born “conscious” hip hop artist and urban intellectual Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, better known by his on stage persona of Lupe Fiasco, is now becoming an activist, recently he co-founded a non-profit organization with his partner Di-Ann Esinor in Brownsville, Brooklyn to help creative and innovative inner-city youth get involved in entrepreneurship and assist them in forming their own startups.
The mission statement of the nonprofit is: “a neighborhood-specific fund to support entrepreneurs and start-ups from under-served areas,” and to “provide access, network, workshops, mentoring and of course funding.”
The nonprofit will be based out of the Dream Big Foundation’s new entrepreneurship center and cafe starting in January 2016.

HOW SOON WE FORGET! (ARTICLE )

Earlier this week, George W. Bush visited the citizens of New Orleans for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the violent storm that killed thousands and displacd about a million people in 2005, in the predominantly black city.
The former president danced and took photos with black children of the victims of the deadly storm, which is kind of like someone killing a man and then showing up to his family’s reunion, since as president, George W. Bush stood by and did little to nothing for about a week as millions of people suffered and thousands died!

NEW YORK BECOMES FIRST STATE TO ISSUE A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR FOR KILLINGS BY POLICE! ( ARTICLE )

New York became the first state to appoint a special prosecutor for police related civilian deaths, when on tuesday New York governor Andrew M. Cuomo issued an executive order naming the state attorney general as the special prosecutor for police-related civilian deaths.
This came after the national outrage when an Eric Garner, an unarmed African-American was seen on video being choked to death by New York police on staten Island.
Despite the chokehold not being allowed under police rules and the medical examiner ruling Mr. Garner’s death a homicide, the grand jury refused to indict the police officer who murdered Eric Garner.

UNCHARGED BUT TRAUMATIZED EX-TEEN PRISON INMATE KALIEF BROWDER KILLS HIMSELF! ( ARTICLE )

Kalief Browder, who was a young New York man of only 22, killed himself on Saturday.
The young man suffered mentally for years after spending three in Rikers prison without charge, since he was 16, even though there was no proof he committed the crime he was accused of (stealing a backpack) and the person who accused him of the crime, repeatedly changed his story. At Rikers he became traumatized after he was not only beaten by prison gangs and prison guards, but he also suffered two years of solitary confinement, which often times makes inmates go insane, if in there for an extended amount of time.
He attempted to get mental health treatment several times while in prison, but was always denied.
R.I.P BROTHER!!
