Chicago born “conscious” hip hop artist and urban intellectual Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, better known by his on stage persona of Lupe Fiasco, is now becoming an activist, recently he co-founded a non-profit organization with his partner Di-Ann Esinor in Brownsville, Brooklyn to help creative and innovative inner-city youth get involved in entrepreneurship and assist them in forming their own startups.

The mission statement of the nonprofit is: β€œa neighborhood-specific fund to support entrepreneurs and start-ups from under-served areas,” and to β€œprovide access, network, workshops, mentoring and of course funding.”

The nonprofit will be based out of the Dream Big Foundation’s new entrepreneurship center and cafe starting in January 2016.
